The KEHS Parents’ Association started the academic year with a social evening for the new parents of the girls starting in the thirds on 3rd October. It was an opportunity for the new parents to meet other parents and meet some of the key members of staff. Miss Evans spoke about how the girls were settling in and then the parents gathered in the school hall for refreshments of fine cheese, fruit and both wine and soft drinks. There was hum of chatter especially as some of the parents exchanged contact details and expressed interest in the upcoming events.
The next PA event is a quiz night on the 16th November which is generally well attended and tickets are on a first come, first served basis. Entry to the quiz and a ploughman’s supper is by ticket only and each team is made up of 8 members either adults or children. It doesn’t matter if a full team of eight can’t be made as the PA always has other parents who will make up the teams. This is great occasion for family, friends and new parents to meet up and exercise the grey matter for the answers to the general knowledge questions.
The final event that the PA will be involved in, is the evening carol service on 12th December at the Old Church, Church Road, Edgbaston. It’s a joyful interlude in beautiful setting before the mad rush to Christmas.
